Musical Birthday Card

Today is my sister Carol's birthday. Her favorite color is green and she loves to write lyrics for songs. She has been writing lyrics since she was a teenager. Even though she has not had any success getting them set to music or published, this year at 60+ Carol decided to go to college for the first time to study music theory. I'm very happy and proud of her.

Using the Gypsy with George & Basic Shapes and Gypsy Wanderings cartridges, I designed an A6 card for her. The two layers, sentiment, musical notes and shadows were cut using the Cricut Expression . The envelope was made using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard. I have submitted this card to MyPink Stamper for her challenge this week.

Cardstock: Bazzill Basic ( base and the shadow); Wausau ( musical notes, Happy Birthday and inside card) and DCWV Latte Stack ( envelope), Paper: DCWV Christmas Combo Matstack and K & Company, Punch: Martha Stewart Swirling Lace, Cuttlebug and Folder Allegro, Ink: Ranger Distress Tea Dye, Adhesive: ATG; Zig 2-Way; GlueDot mini and Provocraft Terrifically Tacky Tape, Ribbon: Offray

The card is gorgeous, and I can tell you put a lot of thought and love into making it as personalized as it can be.

I like the way you make a matching envelope for your cards. One thing I need to start doing
