All Occasions Mini Album

The past two weeks I have been making the All Occasions mini album designed by Kathy Orta King of Paper Phenomenon. It is an eight page mini album with numerous areas to add photos and journaling. I used a 12 X 12  DCWV Le Tres Chic stack throughout. Because the paper would possibly crack at the spine edges, I decided to first wrap the album with black cardstock followed by piecing the DCWV paper to the front cover, spine and back cover. I used a Tim Holtz Ideology Curio Knob, Ball Chain and Long Fastener as the closure. I hand sewed a string of pearls from my stash to narrow black ribbon, then glued that to some Martha Stewart lace. This was used to enhance the simple beauty of the cover.

The mini album may be viewed on the following YouTube url.https://youtu.be/bAhL0Q_Z0tU

Birthday Card for My Youngest Sister

My youngest sister was born on Veteran’s Day when I was six years old. And she made us a family of four sisters. Like me she loves to travel and she will be retiring at the end of this month.

Front of the card

I made a 5 3/4 inches X 5 1/4 inches “Z” card for the first time. I learned how to do this by watching the YouTube video made by Linda Duke. The card is 5 1/2 inches at the highest end and 3 1/4 inches at the lowest end (pink Bazzill Basic).

DCWV Ciao Bella paper used

The bouquet of flowers on the front of the card were fussy cut(DCWV Ciao Bella stack). The edges were inked with Fired Brick Ranger Distress Ink and Distress Marker. I used Rangers Claudine Hellmuth Studio multi medium matte on the delicate parts ie. leaves to give them enduring stability. It was adhered to the front of the card( Recollections Foam Squares).

Back of the card

The ribbon( Studio 18) was attached to the card before the Vellum was adhered.
Light green vellum(Emagination Crafts) was embossed with the Cuttlebug Birthday folder using an eBosser.
The doily lace trim( Martha Stewart Vintage Doily Punch) was made from white cardstock(Georgia Pacific).

Inside of the “Z”

The butterfly( Inkadinkado) and Happy Birthday( Recollections) were stamped with Rangers Archival Jet Black Ink. The happy birthday is stamped on the card under the light green vellum.
Flowers (Fiskars punch) were made from the papers and vellum scraps. Two flowers were adhered together with Scotch Quick Dry. Ice White pearl( Viva Pen) added to the centers. Then they were adhered to the card with hot glue.

Butterfly on Toadstool Birthday Card

DSCF3052
Tomorrow my oldest granddaughter will be eighteen years old. It is hard to imagine it has been that long since our beautiful blue eyed baby girl was born. But, I did just attend her high school graduation last month and she will be off to college very soon.

Purple is her favorite color, so I incorporated it into the making of this 6 X 6 birthday card. DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack 2010 was used for the 6 X 6 base and the 5.5 X 5.5 mat. The corners were decorated using the WRMK Corner Chromper Cloud punch.

It has been awhile since I have used the Cricut Imagine. I used it along with the Lori’s Garden cartridge. That is my favorite Imagine cartridge. The butterfly layers (page 11) are print/cut at 1.3 inches and the toadstools layers (page 12) are print/cut at 3.0 inches.

All the layers were inked with Colorbox Q Brown ink before they were assembled with Recollections Foam Squares for the layering and Zig 2 Way for assembling other parts. The grass is pieces I had leftover from a Tim Holtz tag and it is made using the Tim Holtz Alterations Tapered Fringe die and inked with TH Distress Peeled Paint ink. All assembled pieces are adhered to the card using the ATG.

The butterfly is embellished with Black Diamonds (antennae) and Platinum (back wing) Stickles. Recollections Rhinestones were used on the body.

The birthday sentiment is a Sylvia Yu stamp using TH Distress Dusty Concord ink. I then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and the Ranger Heat It tool. I cut it using a Fiskars scallop punch. The edges are inked with TH Distress Dusty Concord ink. It is adhered to the card using the Recollections Foam Squares.

Last week one of my granddaughters celebrated her 9th birthday. It was fun making this card for her and seeing her joy when she opened the envelope.

This card was designed using the Provocraft Gypsy. The little girl shape is from the A Child's Year cartridge. I took one of the shapes and flipped it than welded the two shapes togethter to form a shape card using the Gypsy. Than I welded the number nine from the Birthday Cakes cartridge to the cupcake. The Happy Birthday with balloons is also from the Birthday Cakes cartridge.

Cardstock and paper: A C Cardstock, K & Company, Ranger Stickes, Embossing: Fiskars Braids and Cuttlebug Distress Stripes were used with stylus for the hair texture and the cupcake wrapper, Ribbon: American Crafts,  Adhesive: Zig 2-Way, ProvoCraft Terrifically Tacky Tape, Martha Stewart Scoreboard
