Sushi Layout

Sushi is one of the favorite foods my family loves to eat. We often eat it here at home and we seek out good restaurants when we are out of town on vacation.

I made this layout to fulfill the requirements for two challenges. Week 5 on the SOC Website we were to craft something with an Asian theme. And for FCCB this week we are to craft something using red and a Cricut cartridge.

I used the Cricut Pagoda cartridge (screen and all the icons) and Lyrical Letters (title). The larger sheets of cardstock are Bazzill, Wausau and DCWV Far East stack. All the icons and title were cut from cardstock in my scrap stash.

My Visit to the MLK Memorial

In June 2013 I was in Northern Virginia to attend my oldest granddaughter’s high school graduation. My son Daniel had flown in from Texas to attend as well. The morning of the day before graduation we drove into DC to see the MLK Memorial. An added pleasure close by is a marvelous gift shop.
I had taken numerous pictures while I was there. Now I have a great reason to move them from my computer to a layout. So, I made this two page layout to fulfill a SOC website third week blog challenge.

I decided to use the photo of the signage for the title. Blue is the color of peacefulness and that is how I felt being there. When I saw this monument after passing through the towering stone passage way I was awestruck. It is such a spectacular site to behold. Click on the pictures to get a closer look.
